Three months later and I still get excited every time I get in my car. That's a good thing, right? I don't get as excited when I see the Nissan commercials though, in fact I get a little sick. And by a little, I mean a lot.

Unrelated, I need my life back from the internet. I already took one big step last night, but there is plenty more to be done. Now, if only my friends wanted to see me in the first place.

Someone tell me the stigma behind drinking milk with pizza. I don't get it. I like drinking milk when I eat pizza.

Recently, I have taken up peanut butter & banana sandwiches. While they are not fried, it still makes me wonder if it's a sign of impending doom. I should probably try to avoid the toilet at much as possible. Unfortunately, the two hamburgers, chicken ramen, and that sandwich will complicate this plan a tad. Why am I not the elephant man?

Fellow pet owners, if you haven’t already heard, there is a recall on 48 dog food brands, and 40 wet cat food brands that was issued today. There have been reports of kidney failure and at least 10 pets have died as a result of eating the contaminated food. Symptoms include vomiting, lethargy, unwillingness to eat, increased water intake, and increased volumes of urination. If your pet has eaten any of the recalled food, please keep an eye on him/her for those symptoms, which if you find you should take your pet to the vet as soon as possible.

You can find the list of recalled brands/foods here.

I’m not much of a whistleblower when it comes to things like this, but people who know me know how much I love my cats.

On the other hand, Bob Barker is secretly pleased with this recent turn of events.

And now, I will conclude this post with a picture of summer. Pay homage!

house_peep.gif But no. Apparently I am only entitled to one episode every 3 weeks, because of some dinks that will inevitably put out the worst songs on radio when American Idol is done, as historically shown by previous winners and losers of the show. You may say to yourself, “well the radio is garbage anyways, don’t listen to it.”

The problem is that I have started delivering pizzas again (in addition to the help desk job,) and spend a lot of time in my car driving around. I have a subscription to XM radio and an ipod, both of which satisfy my music listening needs. Unfortunately, the iPod doesn’t get as much car-play as I would like it to, due to the wonderful device known as the iTrip FM Transmitter. This piece of junk only seems to want to turn on 10% of the time with no rhyme or reason, leaving me with either the XM, silence, or the limited selection of scratched CDs that are scattered about my car.

Let’s take a look at some of the contestants that have made it to the radio. Clay Aiken? Missed out on the boy band bandwagon by about 5 years. Ruben Studdard? Who cares. Fantasia? Garbage. Bo Bice? Nah. Taylor Hicks? All aboard the LOL express! We also have Chris Daughtry and his band, Daughtry, but really, did the world need another Creed clone?

You know who put an album out that is better than all of those combined? Yeah, that’s right, Mr William Hung. The only guy to come out of American Idol with a song you remember. Don’t deny it, either, you know you liked his version of “She Bangs” better than any of the other garbage that these clowns have put out. Don’t get me wrong, because I have nowhere near the singing talent that they all do, but you’ve got to ask yourself, what is the point when they just put out unmemorable, pre-written trash?

Anyhow, to get back to my original point before I got double sidetracked, once again House has been delayed for another 3 weeks due to American Idol, after airing just one episode coming back from a previous 3 week pre-emption. There was only one episode in December, followed by a 3 week delay, one at the beginning of January with another 3 week delay after that, and then two episodes and another 3 week delay which has brought us up to speed. Now, Fox is touting that after this three week pre-emption, there will be NINE episodes in a row.

Hey, great, nine episodes in a row, awesome, whoopee, throw a party. Call me cynical, but I think it is crap. Having 9 weeks in a row shouldn’t be considered something special, it should be NORMAL. Not getting pushed back every other week. Way to stick behind one of your strongest shows, Fox. I guess that doesn’t mean anything though when compared to the ratings juggernaut that is Idol. Oops, gotta make room for Jeff Foxworthy and yet another quiz format prime time game show.

In the grand scheme of things, I realize that this is all worthless, but it’s what is on my mind at the moment. Thanks for reading.

I am really getting sick of not having a place to park in my own garage when I come home from work. Every single night for the past week that I have come home, all of the parking spaces have been filled up, and at least one of them is taken by some car I have never even seen. It is bullshit that I am forced to park in the street because our apartment complex is apparently a hotel. These people are lucky they aren’t getting their cars keyed when I walk past them really. They could at least have the decency to park behind whoever they are staying with, but no, they are too good for that and need their own space. I’m not going to park behind a neighbors car, either, because I sleep til 6pm, and I am not about to be woken up to move my car because there was nowhere to park in the first place.

Things are going to have to change.

grossmanface.jpgFirst and foremost, OUCH. This is the first experience I have with one of “my teams” taking a loss in the championship game. I have to say it hurts, and hurts quite a bit. We played like ass, and deserved that loss. You would think, being an outdoor team that the rain would be in Chicago’s favor, but it took quite a toll on the game. A lot of people will be saying “I told you so” about Rex Grossman, but to be honest, I don’t think it really surprised any Bears fans tonight. I think what was most disappointing though, was that not even the rest of the team played how they should have. Peyton Manning may be one of the greatest quarterbacks ever, but come on, where was the D? I still love you Devin Hester, and will have your manbabies any and every day of the week.

To give credit where credit is due, Peyton Manning, Tony Dungy, you deserved it, congratulations.

I suppose there is always “next season” but this loss is a tough one to swallow. To make it this far, and then to choke, hurts. Thanks for another great season, Chicago, let’s get that silver football next year.

On a lighter note, the Puppy Bowl with the Kitty Halftime show replay afterwards was very therapeutic. The level of cuteness displayed was off the charts!

adultswim.thumbnail.jpgAs you may or may not have heard on the news recently, there was a bomb scare in Boston yesterday, involving a viral marketing campaign for the new Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie coming out (March 23, oh god I can’t wait) which was in essence a bunch of LED lights with some batteries attached. Before I go on any further, I would like to commend the Boston Police for the response to “what could have been.” They did what they were hired to do, and did a fine job at it. Now with that out of the way, I have to ask myself, ‘What the hell is happening here?’

Most people would say that we are living in a post-9/11 world now, and that is the way things are. Airport and public transportation safety has been tightened as well as many other safety precautions to help prevent something like the NYC tragedy from happening again. However, I think there is something to be said about how things went down with this “bomb scare” in Boston. I think we can all agree that a majority of the country does not stay up on Sunday nights watching cartoons on Adult Swim, much less even know what Adult Swim, Aqua Teen, or the Mooninites are. It boggles my mind however, that we can turn a set of blinking lights with some batteries attached no bigger than a Playstation into the next big terror scare.

I just cannot believe what a turd all of this turned into. After it was found that they were not bombs, the media circus continued all day long. Turner Broadcasting admitted their ‘mistake’ and apologized. Why is this still being labeled as a hoax even? Now, two of the people who placed these ads have been arrested and are being charged with “placing a hoax device” (2-5 years for each device) and disorderly conduct. While the hoax device charges will probably get laughed out of court, it is still completely unnecessary for the two to be having to face any legal consequences from this at all. Turner Broadcasting has to pay a $750,000 fine for it as well. It’s going to be some of the best cash they’ve ever spent though, some of the best publicity you can buy right there. I hope you can see this finger though, “News” Outlets, because I’m doing it as hard as I can.

Like some of you, I picked up a Nintendo Wii recently (read: waited in line on launch day for 6 hours), and I must say, this is definitely the coolest thing since whatever came after sliced bread. Included of course, was Wii Sports, which is an absolute blast to play, unless you are playing boxing. However, tennis and bowling especially make the game what it is. My whole family was getting into those two games. Well, until my father cracked his TV with the remote, but that is another story.

Along with that, I picked up Zelda and Monkeyball. I plowed through Zelda in a good 40 hours, and was not disappointed with it. Special props go out to the new items for this game. Great game all around.

Monkeyball, on the other hand, is a steaming pile of turds. The main game is alright, don’t get me wrong. I bought it for the multiplayer though, with 50 minigames advertised. Only 10-15 are actually playable though without wanting to tear your hair out. Lousy controls really cripple this game. Wish I had bought Rayman instead. I’d like to pick up Trauma Center as well in the near future as well.

Aside, I’ve also been playing Final Fantasy XII, which, in my opinion, turned out to be the one of the best of the series. Kind of like a mix of World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy games, and pretty well done. Beautiful graphics, cinematics and a stellar storyline make this another satisfactory game.

PS. Mario Party plz.

PPS. This post kind of sucks, and most of you probably don’t care. Really, I am just testing out some new blogging software that crossposts to LJ, but anyways, that is what I have been up to lately.

PPPS. Da bears.

Where the heck are all of these Chicago Bears fans suddenly coming from? Sorry folks, this bandwagon is FULL. Lions fans, you especially aren't allowed on. Sorry. Stick with your team, and fire millen. Fire Kitna while you're at it, too. As for the rest of you all, see you at the super bowl when we are 16-0.
